i recently got a clown trigger, small, around 2.5 - 3 inches. i always wanted one but held back because i knew he would distroy all my other fish, and all the small ones were always faded in color...BUT my new tank i set up a few months ago was fishless, until i got him about 2-3 weeks ago. i had to because he was not faded at all, and i knew my tank was empty. so now he is buy himself.

i know everything about the fish, i know it gets huge, its extremely aggessive, ect... dont care about that or need to hear it was a bad choice because its not, its my choice. i wanted to know what the deal is with other fish with a clown trigger. i read so much about this fish and get mixed answers on different sites. some sites say it can go with pretty much anything larger then it. others say larger and aggressive. some say same size or larger, dont have to be aggressive. and some say nothing. i wanted to do an aggressive tank anyway, but kind of a aggressive reef. i want to know what fish you would reccomend putting in here. im debating about leaving him by himself, but if i did add another fish or two, what would you say? they can be fish that get large because my good friend has a very large aggressive tanks that can take it when i feel its a little too big for my tank. i wanted a lion, but was told they will rip the fins off. i wanted an eel but heard they will pester it too much if its small. angels...well most are not reef safe, and it cant be a smaller angel cause it will probably get its fin butt kicked. i was thinking a tang...which could maybe work if its a hardy aggressive tang. i was also thinking about another trigger...but i dont know how that would work. puffers? wrasses? let me know what you guys think.

hmm... well thats good to know. did yours ever act aggressive? as in mine seems crazy mental already. chases your fingers, only wants large prawn or silversides so he can rip it up, and of course loves carring snail and hermit crabs around like a free airplane ride

im not to familiar with trigger behavior, but wouldnt it have been better to add him after adding the other fish so that he is at the bottom of the list in terms of who bosses who, because now it seem u gave him a licence to be a bully since he was put in first. (not bash ur purchase) u could put him in a holding tank add the other fish, and then put him back in after a few days

yeah well i actually was planning on having him just by himself in his own tank so he has no compitition or anything, but i was more of just curious if i ever wanted too. and i also figured weather first or last to add him, he is going to end up being the cobra commander of the tank no matter when he was intro
