RO/DI cartridge orange after one use?

So I just change all the cartridges, resin, and membrane on my ro/di

after the first use I noticed that the 1st chamber (1 micron) already had some orange on it

After about 10 uses it is a complete rust orange color
I've heard this is normal for NJ water, but does this mean I have to change that first cartridge already or is it still good?

Yes,it's fine,Just keep checking the TDS meter.

If you're going through DI that fast, I'd check your RO membrane. Make sure it's doing it's job. If the membrane isn't actually filtering anything out, that's what is killing your DI so fast.

What is your start TDS and your final TDS after your filter?

Its rust and sediment from the pipes. Mine turned orange after making my first water change which is sad.

Check your TDS AND note how much water your making per hour. Efficiency drops quickly with dirty filters.

It's fine until it starts turning dark brown. That's when it's pretty much clogged.

Yeah... TDS is the best guide.

Welcome to NJ water. When I first moved I drank tap water in NJ. Then I set up my tank, checked the TDS and saw my filters... Now I buy bottled water.

Its not the DI, my carbon block, di, and membrance are fine

Hanna makes good hand held ones.TB aquatics sells them in Jersey.Or HM digital also.

I like the HM digital ones that can measure both in and out with the flip of a switch.

if you have flow restricter on your waste line it should be change same time as your membarane to give you perfect water flow restricter come in same as your membarane rated for
