what a crappy thing to happen. at least you might have caught it in time.

any idea yet what caused the glass to crack? that's really scary.

Andres, get your livestock in another stable reef (welcome to use mine as well) Take the tank and sump to the street and beat the piss out of them with a hammer! You'll feel better for a little while :)

I'm right over the GW Bridge, if you need me to hold some of your corals for you let me know, I have room in my tank. (No zoo's, my regal would make a meal of them!)

im worried in time my sump might leak as well, but first sign of leakage or the next tank i setup im going with rubber/plastic tub from kmart all the way for a sump and small plexi for a fuge on the side or even hang on.

I think that is safest

Man, that totally sucks!!! Same exact thing happened to me over the summer when my 20g glass sump cracked all the way across the front panal! I definatly dont trust glass anymore for sumps.

Hope everything makes it alright, good luck!

Whew! I just finished and everything is stable for now...

The rock is all in the rubbermaid tub and my main tank show no serious sign of distress and everything is polyping, that tunze is working overtime right now. I Thank each and every one person that offered their help I really appreciate it and im glad to be affiliated w. such a caring dynamic group of people

Im still a bit upset but im trying to look up as nothing has died, and better yet noONE did as electrocution is a very real danger w/ our hobby

Heres some pics of the carnage

Also I think I know what made the tank break

1) I had about 8 2" PVC fittings on the bottom of my BB sump followed by a table of eggcrate and 80lbs of rock it held up. This created pressure points on the glass

2) Usually my Mag 9.5 doesnt rest on the bottom glass but after I took it out a 2 mths ago I never placed it back on this screw against the wall that secured it away from the bottom. Im guessin this created vibration which caused secondary stress on the points which proved to be too much

So far it makes sense in my head
