Sump and stand

Ok. I have a 55 gallon tank with a custom stand I built. Only problem is I can't fit a 20 gallon long tank/sump in the stand like I'd like (unless I cut the middle section of wood and the back of the stand out. Anyway, is it unwise to use a 10 gallon aga tank (from petco) to construct a sump with a bak pack skimmer, a quiet one 3000 (to connect to the overflow), an a refugium area with my mangroves and some chaeto? I don't want to continue using the amircle wet dry sump that I have (which is cracked and being held together by silicone). If not, I supposed I will use the tank as a quarantine tank. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I know. I have been trying to reach you! It's also a matter of it fitting in the stand. Worst comes to worse I can give it back to you so you could help someone else out in need of it doesn't fit in my stand. I am home all day tomorrow and all day Sunday!
