I have a small serpent star in a 14 BioCube with 3 baby manadrins and 2 pepermint shrimp. I saw him writhing in the sand bed last night and when I checked on him this morning he'd litterally ripped himself in half. I now have 2 halfs of a starfish crawling around the tank.
I know that some species of starfish commonly drop an arm to procreate, but I've never heard of a serpent star doing this. Is he doomed or is this just a serpent star's version of asexual reproduction?
