I have been having trubble with my needle wheel pump on my skimmer and I want to replace it. The problem is I bought my setup from 2000 ocean on utica ave in brooklyn. when I got into the hobby it seem great one price I got everthing I need. Well When things start going bad there Is no support I would buy another pump from them to make it easy. But they tell me they dont carry that pump any more and have no parts, and no idea where to get them. Great! well my sump has a small place for a skimmer to fit into. the skimmer is fin just keep having trubble with the pump and cant seem to find the same pump it seems that all the parts are from china! I guess they are the dollar store for fish supplies!
the skimmer will work but not strong then it will just stop making alot of bubbles. If I take the pump out check it ( it is not dirty) put it back it will work for a few days than the same B.S. it is a PIA to keep breaking down the pump.
If I want to keep the skimmer body because it fits in the space do I buy the pump with the same GPH as the old one can I put a bigger GPH in to skim more?
Does anyone have or know where to get that pump that they sell with their skimmers, or know of a small skimmer pump?
