QT tank sand question

I currently have a QT tank for new fish, which i do hypo in. The tank is currently bare bottom. I was thinking of putting quickcrete playsand in this tank for the duration of the Hypo. Do anyone see any problems with this?

You shouldn't put sand in a qt tank.

my reason is some fish (ie:wrasse) like to hide in sand. I've already have large PVC pipes for them to hide in.

I would stay away from quickcrete though. It isn't tested and it is definitely the wrong kind of sand to make the fish feel at home.
