My clown has decided to swim in my single head torch. he swims in it once or twice a day.. Doesnt seem to be bothering the torch but i see that the tomato clown is getting white spots when he swims in the torch. i think the torch is stinging him? is this normal? the spots go away by the next morning. is this some sort of ick?

Clowns will host a variety of things from anenomes to power heads (usually a poor idea but go figure).

Often when a fish tries to host a stinging coral that its body will have a reaction to - the result are gray spots from the sting, though I cannot say they go away overnight and they are usually a good deal larger than what ich would look like, so no, it would not be ich.

Can you possibly post a pic of what these spots look like?
