skimmer is acting weird

I have reef octopus 180 with psk 2500 pump. Most of the time it doesn't look like it has enough bubbles but sometimes it works like a charm. Why is that? I took it apart and cleaned it but nth changes. Using needle wheel.

are you looking when you feed or after your hand was in the tank?

i don't know. prolly after putting my hand in the tank. Why? does it make any difference?

The oil from your skin kills the foam head. Feeding does this also.
