Is there a white bulb without a yellow or blue tint?

As the title says I'm looking for a white bulb without the yellow seen in some 10k or the blue seen in some 14k. Thanks.

Paul, I have always thought the 1ok XM se bulbs fired on a PFO ballast are the crispest ad whitest, but that's JMHO

SE or DE ? Many people for SE, like the Coralview Reefflux 10K and say thats it more of like crisp white or even almost bluish (like 11k or 12k).

Cool, but will this still be good for growth?

I finally got Steve's old fixture wired up for my ballasts. What are you running again? The bulbs I got from steve are AB 10k's but there seems to be a hint of yellow in them. And since the fixture only takes 2 t5's I don't know if I can get the right color with the AB 10k's.

THe AB 10k DE's are probably the most yellow 10k I have seen but according to sanjay's tests it has the most par.....BIG DEAL! The change in par from one 10k to another will not be noticable in your growth assuming all water parms are in check.

From the 10k's I have seen/used I like (in this order) BLV10k, Giesmann 13k, EVC 10k. If you could retro a 3rd T5 on the hood the overall color would be much more pleasing.

Hell no ,pure white
I had the the reeflux 10 SE ,really really white ,no yellow at all :smokin:

I think there are some member that have DE bulbs from reeflux ,If imnot mistaken ,slobby may have them on his tank ,but imnot sure

Look into the Giesemann Megachrome series. The 12.5k and the 14k. The de tends to be the choice in Europe.

me seen and no like Giesemann suck and are expensive and burn out to fast(Par level and color shift so I heard). 14k's are cool though but not my favorite. BLV's are good. Never seen the reeflux.

It would always depend on whats driving the bulb. I have always had good experience with the Megachromes.
