I've never been an advocate in a QT system for new fish before putting into my DT. However, recently I've loss numerous fish, and it has add up in a loss $$$$.
I know that in setting up a QT, I will need the following: UV Sterlizer, power filter (no carbon), heater, and a powerhead or air stone.
I'm close to ordering a custom AIO acrylic tank to be my QT with the following measurements 23x18x10.5 Rimless AIO 1/2" thick. (about 17 Gallons)
The reason I choose this size for this QT tank to fit inside my 125G cabinet/stand. I have not order the tank yet! Because I have these questions below. Appreciate your answers!
Questions:
1) What size tank should I get to QT? (Take into account about 6-8 fish).
2) Will I need to use chemicals or medications, such as copper?
3) Will I need a light, and if I do what type of light?
For those that QT, what sort of equipment would you recommend!
Thank you,
Johnny
