Janet if you have an explosion of algae from increased lighting your waste level (phosphates + nitrates) are probably pretty high. Using a po4 remover, incresing water changes, or skimming more aggressively will lower waste levels and taper off the algae.
What lighting did you have before the t5's?Which corals look like they're burning? You can shorten the photoperiod a few hrs and increase it slowly.
How high is the light fixture from your tank ,I have T5 Lighting on one of my 30 gals 6 bulb ,I have no prob with it ,Coralline growing all over the place and corals are open extended fully ,Clams .Softie Lps ,all doing great
