sea hare or start dosing mag and start pulling it off

If you dont have any fish that will eat peppermint shrimp I suggest them for aptasia control

I had a sea hare it it didnt touch my green hair algae. That - a yellow tang- this fish- that fish- theyre all hit and miss you may get lucky you may waste your time and wind up with a sea hare that is then hard to keep alive that didnt help your tank.. Get your parameters back in line and keep up with your maintenance hard core and youll beat it. Try running a GFO reactor if you dont already as well as carbon to further polish your water. Change it often and do frequent water changes instead of trying to rely on an animal to possibly solve your problem. Good luck with it.

In my 12+ years of reef keeping, I have found only one animal that eats hair algae- the banded bullet goby...Amblygobius phalaena.. However, while they eat it, they get no nourishment from it. In my long ago hair algae days, I tried one. It ate algae all day long....and wasted away, dying of starvation. On top of that, it never had a noticeable impact on the algae.
