to drill the back of my lil aquapod to allow me to use a HOB refugium skimmer combo. Has anyone done this?
Def would need advice, plans, bits/parts needed, and maybe some help from someone who has done it themselves.

you can still do the same thing , notice how I installed a box in the back of the tank you can do the same just silicone it on but before you do that you would have to drill holes in the back of the tank one for intake to the skimmer one to bring water back to the tank after skimmed . My box has a divider between the intake and output so that the skimmed water doesnt get sucked back to the skimmer it can only go to the tank

For a small regular type hole you need a glass/tile drill bit-

For plumbing type holes a diamond encrusted hole saw.

When using it surround the area where your drilling the hole with plumbers putty and fill it with water like alittle pool- this keeps the glass cool and helps keep from shattering. No pressure just the weight of the dril and take your time.

If the tanks already up and running I wouldnt drill it. Too much chance for a disaster if you ask me.

i was thinking of cutting a bit of the hoog, but i would have to replace the pipes of the hob, do u think thats a good alternative?
