I see that Seachem has a new salt out called Salinity. The claim is it is better than ESV and D&D and any other salt out there. Also this is the first salt that SeaChem actually produces. All the other salts they sell under their name are actually Instant Ocean. Same with a lot of salts Instant Ocean actually makes the salts. The price I saw was 90.00 for a 225g mix. It is more like a powder than a salt mix. Anyone try it yet?

I heard good things about it. Each batch is tested and results are posted on each bucket. I was thinking of switching from my Seachem Reef salt. Only problem I heard was some people got cloudiness or it took long to mix.

BTW, I didnt know Seachem salt is basically Instant Ocean. Where did you hear this?

I got it from the mouth of Seachem lol. They had a booth yesterday at the NJRC swap and I was talking to them about it and he told me that IO makes their salt except for the new salinity. He also mentioned the cloudiness they had in a few batches which was, what he said high Mag levels in the mix. Which means that the salt is not consistent.

I use the new aqua vitro Solinity salt. its amazing.... I was using coralife for the longest time but I had to dose alot. My calcium levels were in the hight 400ppm range and alk was very low like 6-7. once i change to Salinity....WOW. my alk is pretty consistent at 9 and my cal is 420pmm. I am still working on dialing the right amount to dose but I will be putting a cal reactor in soon soo... we will see how well that works out. Otherwise my tank was struggling but since i changed to the SALINITY aqua vitro....everything is growing and just overall happier.

might have i worked the got-frags booth, wish they put screen names on tags so ya know who is who, lol i am horrible with real names
I probrably talked to you, I didn't buy anything from that booth, I didn't even look at tags for names, A few people knew I was there, One guy even thought I had been banned off of here and was spreading the rumor that I was banned. I never heard of the guy either. Rick were you the guy with the beard?

I think each salt mix should be the same as every other batch. I would like consistency from batch to batch...is that not possible?[/]

This is a good question. Does it vary or are they just giving you confirmation that it is to spec?
I think the only 2 salts out there that are consistent are D&D and ESV. When I talked to the Seachem rep, He said they try to keep them close as possible but there is no gurantte on it and they make around 3000 buckets at a time. The label on it just confirms the bucket of salt and its contents.
