I recently bought a TEK T5 light for my 75. Prior to this light I always had a light directly on the top of the tank. This allowed full advantage of all the light for the tank and very light spilled into the room.
With the TEK the cable would not allow this kind of position so I had the mounting brackets. This let so much light escape into the room that I was not happy, so I modded the brackets with some allen bolts and spacers from Lowes and now the light hangs 1 1/2 inches lower.
I also spray painted all the hardware so it matches the finish on the TEK hardware.
Now a much greater percentage of light goes directly into the tank.
What do you think?
