Is there a way to rid your tank of pulsing xenia?

i got a free frag when i first started about 2-3 years ago and i cannot get rid of this weed... every so often ill rip/cut it off the rock but naturally some survives and regenerates..the issue is they attach to my zoas and im not too fond of that lol
is there anything out there that will melt them like the same way you get rid of aptasia?

Fwiw I unwittingly had my tank at 1.030 for a day and lost 7/8 of my Xenia population. Fish didn't notice. Rest of corals closed up for a few days then opened back up. Xenias shriveled to 1/20th original size and melted away. The nubs that were left reopened about a month and a half later and took another month to recover to normal size. Just sayin...

What has worked for me is scraping the rock right where they are attached. I've never had them come back.

thanks for the responses guys i forgot i had started the thread LOL... i did a wc yesterday and tried to scrape as much as i could off the rock but didnt get it all so there will surely be some regrowth soon... if anyones interested send me a pm in a few weeks im sure ill have pleanty for u lol this stuff grows like weeds

the rock is on the bottom unfortunately.. i tried joes juice and lemon juice a while back to no avail lol next time i go to the store ill pick up some paste and try that..ty for the suggestion
