this hobby and issues?

there alway some crap around the corner with this hobby pick up some stuff yesterday after not throwing any thing in the tank for a few feeling good today my skimmer bum out on me damn it now what to do?? fix the one i have or get the new one really want there few issues .. 0ne how long can i go with out a skimmer no sps just few lps and alot of softies and a heavy bio load few fish well ? two found are a little low till the end of the holidays some op on my choices please

If you can keep up 20% water changes very week. You should be ok.
I went a long time with no skimmer & large weekly water changes.

There is no question in that, any moving part will some day fail. Given quality items can seem to last forever, but will eventually fail anyhow.

ok with so manny think to pay for with the holidays coming i decided to get new impeller for the skimmer i have and wait till after the holiday to drop 300 plus on the skimmer i want thanks for all the input peace out

got skimmer back on track the new impeller came and man its pulling some nast guck out feeling alot better with a skimmer back on the tank
