Your RO unit 'preps' your water.
You just need to circulate the water with a powerhead (so there is oxygen in it when you add it to the tank), get it to the correct temp and add the proper amount of salt mix (the calcium & all you need is already in the salt mix).

Do you already have a tank set up?

here is the thing with that ro/ is the reverse osmosis/ di is the deioniser this really makes crystal clear yet unsafe to drink water lol, its really the best way to make your saltwater and if you have to get a unit and this is a high recommendation on my behalf i would recommend the typhoon reefekeeper from airwaterandice.com comes tested and assembled and ready to go with all the gear you need filters as well , and my unit came with a tds meter so you can test the perfection of your water , it was about $ 159 and worth every penny, but with the 3 5gallon poland spring bottles i use i kind of have 1 shower instead of two now .lol and salt is something of a mystery to me i use instant ocean cause its cleaner than reef crystals but there are at least 5 others that i have recently heard of that are better than that .
hope this helps.
