biopellets and cheato ?

Ok so I'm one the secound week of my pellets went threw a 2 day slight cloudy water phase. My nitrate at 0 phos at .o3 , passed 2 days my water has been crystal clear nitrates 0 .phos has started going up went from .o3 to .o5 the next day now its at .09 .what's going on here .I have noticed that my 90 fuge with cheato looks like its not doing to well, the top layer looks like its turning brown I'm wondering if my phos going up is due to the pellets eating the phos and starving out the cheato ? Did this happen to anyone when they used biopellets ? Did ur cheato die? Did u remove the cheato?

my cheato is good, its not really growing but its good.

I have a ton of it I would say a 5 gallon bucked full

Since I achieved a ULNS my refug is non existent. No nutrients to export, you will starve your refug.

Now if you feed heavy and have your main tank overflow into your refug, then into the sump I believe this can help the refug. While the pellets, skimmer and other nutrient extractors continue to clean the water column.

Thanks harry ,my drain flows to my 40 gal sump first then drops down to my 90 fuge ,were it returns to my 120 gal tank and its all hard pvc plumbed I really can't switch things around to easly .do u think I should remove the cheato ,maybe some of it ? Also do u think this is y my phos went up alittle

Or maybe I need to add the other 550 mls of pellets now !! I am running 550 mls right now I'm going to run 1100 mls total but I didn't wanna do it all at once its been about 2 weeks since I first added the 550ml is it time for the next 550mls

Your p04 is the starting phase of the pellets do not add more it will raise your p04 even higher wait tell your p04 are undetectable then add more pellets

No i didn't go throw that because i was already using the zoevit system and switch. To pellets . But before i went pellets i did alot of research and the cloudy water and rise in par are the starting fas of the pellets once your bacteria equals it shelf out your par will drop

Ok I was just wondering cause like we were talking about before I'm supssed to run 1100 mls of pellets and I started of with half so I'm still 550 mls shy of what I will need to run ,also batt when do u think I should add the need bag wait till everythings 0 ? Will it ever get to 0 without the other 550 mls ? I can def tell u this my water has never been so clear and my corals and def the clam opened a lot they always expanded nice but now even more so far so good .I'm still running phoban also should I continue to use it ?

You can level the phosban on there till you reach 0.00 phosphate you can add the next bag in one month but as long as you have the right flow you should hit a ULN system

some people plumb their tank like that with the thought that the pods have a better chance to go directly into the main display tank.
