So from what I've read in numerous places is that one cannot expect coraline algae to just grow out of nowhere if you do not introduce some kind of coraline algae to your system. I've read that you need to place different types of coraline in your system if you want different types to grow. In researching this I came across two different products. One was called "Garf Grunge" and the other product I saw for a price of about 30 bucks were two playing card sized plastic sheets encrusted with coraline that you're supposed to place in the rear of your tank behind your rocks. I know about having to have the right conditions, parameters, CA and Kh levels etc in order for it to grow but to JUMP start it does anyone have experience with these two products? Especially the plastic plates? And is there a less expensive, easier way to seed my system with some coraline? Anyone willing to help me out by maybe sending me some coraline they scraped off their glass or tank? Thanks

I certainly didn't introduce coralline intentionally, and I don't recall buying anything that had coralline on it when I put it in the tank. I think it's just a time thing... after about 5 months of the tank running, it started to appear slowly. Eventually it took off and was just everywhere. How old is your tank at this point?
