I found this snail in my tank today hiding under a small piece of rock that I was gonna use to attach a frag. anyway, not sure what it is, never seen it before, must be a hitchhiker or some recent rock purchases. any way it is about 3/4-1" inch long, almost flat shell gray with specks of white, the body of the snail is probably 2-3x the length of the shell. and the shell is much too shallow for it to recede into it.

anyway some help would be appreciated before I put it back in my tank.

here are some pics, but I also have a couple more in my Gallery

looks like a stomatella varia snail. I have a bright orange one I see sometimes when the lights kick on. It's nocturnal, so I don't see it during the day much. Hasn't harmed anything in my tank to my knowledge.

BC right it looks like a Stomatella. They're pretty harmless and if you have another one they will multiple pretty fast.

It's actually pretty interesting as the female starts to shot the eggs on into the water column and then the male shoot the sperm into the water column also. Help feed the tank but they do multiple pretty fast.
