having an issue with mr account...

im having a problem and i dont know if i changed something on my account or something or what but for my "unread posts", once i click to read a post, it could say i have around 200 unread posts, then i read one, and go to look at new ones again and it says only 9 are new. majority of the time it says NO unread posts... i KNOW i did not read nearly that many. for instance this morning i signed on and it says 158 new unread posts, and it changed to 9 within 2 minutes on the site... this started about 1-2 weeks ago... whats going on.........

normally when i get home late at night and bored, ill sit and click mojority of threads, but usually say if there are 100 posts that are new, i click one, read it, click back and it says 99 new are left, and so on... now say i have 100 new posts, i click one, read it, click back, and it says 8 are left or something. all the threads i did not read yet get marked as read.

That's my primary method of reading the forums, rarely do I click into individual forums.
With that said, no problems like you mentioned using Firefox 3.6.13. Maybe a cache/cookie issue? Try clearing out your browser cache and see if it fixes it.

well i noticed it does it on my lap top, my desk top, and my work computer. sooo i figured its not the computer. or i could be wrong...?

Hmm that's odd then... so you're saying the "issue" is happening at all 3 locations? Do you have some addon/extension that might refresh/revisit the site automatically?

i was thinking about that, like maybe my phone when i use MR, so about a week ago i did not use MR on my phone to see if it still did it, and i acutally did notice a bit difference, usually when i used my phone too it always said NO new posts, now it says at least 8 or more. after i use MR on the computer i do not click sign off before i close the window, but i never have because its my computer and no one else ever uses it so i dont have to worry about anyone going on to my account on my computer. but like i said this just started happening about 2-3 weeks ago... could it be that since when i type in MR.com and it auto signs me in, could that have anything to do with it? like could it try to just refresh when i was last on or something? i dont know im just trying to think of ideas...

It says #of unread posts since your last visit, I think once you've logged in and have read one post the counter will reset and only display the # of posts that have been entered while you are on the site.

It says #of unread posts since your last visit, I think once you've logged in and have read one post the counter will reset and only display the # of posts that have been entered while you are on the site.

If it says 100 unread msgs once you log in, and you open 1 thread, it'll retain 99 unread. Unless someone posts while you're in a thread...
