Only issue with the live sand is it may cloud up your water compared to the dry. If you already have an established tank with LS you can add dry sand to the pre-exsisting top sandbed and it will become live in a matter of time. rinse the Dry Sand with RO water and slowly add to the tank with pumps off using some pvc pipe to act as a funnel. Really the choice is up to you, some will say LS others will say Dry." If your not in a hurry then go with the Dry, with the Live Rock. Will be more appealing while your tank starts it new cycle compared to it being cloudy for about a week. Time will eventually make all things live in your DT. Just don't rush... you know the routine!:splitspin

I am a noob but I was told that it is good to use live sand for the top 1" then the remainder of the sand is dry aragonite. So 75% bottom and 25% top live. I was told to do this to my 57G that I am going to do. Since only the top 1" gets oxygen.
