I was reading on another forum about having blacklight as moonlighting...had one lying around...so tried it out...WOW everything in my tanks flouresces like crazy...the whole tank glows!!! all these things I havent seen before...anyways i assume this is dangerous for my corals so I should stop...unless hopefully someone can safely say otherwise. :D

so far i have tunrned it on everynite for about 3 hours...rite after i turn off everything else...the corals seems to do fine and i see no adverse effects...in fact instead of immediately closing up...the corals stay open and flouresce with the blacklight on...just my experience

This post comes six years later, obviously. But out of curiosity, what have the long-term effects been on your corals with the blacklight. I was pondering use of blacklight today and decided to query MR.
