2 types of Purple Hornets?

I never knew there were two kinds of purple hornets. What do you guys think about this? The one that is labeled as old school purple hornets I always thought were green goblin zoas. http://thefragfarmer.com/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=528

Lol I know what you mean, but I ordered acans and ricordeas from him in the past and they all looked pretty good. I'm looking through the site cus of their holiday sale. Those zoas are on my list atm.

Hey, it was only my opinion. If you say their stuff checks out then it does. Btw, how did the acans work out for you ?

Lol the frags were nice when I got them. But I only have 2 left that are on the egg crate rack in my lps tank. Acans don't seem to stick in my tank for long since I have the tendency to use them to trade for other stuff.

And this is exactly why I stay away from expensive corals (anything over $100). They're out of their minds with this cr@p, the "Holy Grail Of Corals". Lmao...... Some of the nicest pieces I owne, picked-up from other hobbiest for 15 bucks. And if don't think a tri color validia or a garth bonsai are nice, that's fine by me.

I own a frag of some colored Hornets and man, it is disappointing. I dont understand why they cost so much...IMHO, it is way overpriced.... Not only can I NOT see the same coloration as what was shown to me on pictures, I dont own a camera that is good enough to even replicate those pics! so I am guessing that if you do end up buying one, I hope your camera is good enough to show off the "beauty" of this...

these guys at fragfarmer must be out of the loop because what they are calling next generation hornets are actually LA Lakers which have been named in ther hobby for quite some time..the only other old school true look a like purple hornets are the Kigs Hornets

kev, i was going to post on another site where they had them listed as the new hornets, sad that vendors trying to take advantage of a name to sell, when they could have used the proper name and did as well and actually that is a great price for those

I'm with you here. I've seen all the hornets' color morphs and I still don't get why are they so expensive. Sure they're nice but soo not worth the price. I bought a $15 frag of tequilla sunrise from MoIdol and I would put that above hornets in no time

yup, trying to prey upon the unknowing is an unfortunate aspect of this hobby, which I see more and more lately..your right though too great price for the lakers
