Best way to change out sand

Hi all
I'm looking to change out my sand to something a little finer than what I have, what sand would you recommend and the best/safest way to change it out.:splitspin

I would take out a little at a time over a 3-4 week time so you get no spikes, also i beleive you can get a build up of co2 if taken out to quick

How big is the tank? use a siphon hole's take out a about a 5x5 area everytime u about to do a water change.....

LOL.....as mentioned alittle at a time, checking for any spikes and save some to re-seed the new

I may want to do this as well. I think my SB is the cause of my cyano. All my other params are ok. Maybe its silicates form the sand.

LOL, jarrett may disappointed because according to my wife I never had a bottom. I'm running two Mp-40's in lagoon mode aat 1 third on opposite ends of my tank (120 gal 60 inches wide).
