Suction sand or just leave it?

I have an mp 40 a korilla and a 1/2 sea swirl but I still get build up deritius on my rocks and sand the rocks I blow off b4 a water change but never suction sand what do u guys think ?

can you give a little more info on your tank dimensions and placement of equipment, maybe a pick would help too

I don't. I have crushed coral so maybe it hides in there but I have this setup 2 years with no problems. It depends on your setup. If not overcrowded and not over fed then a cleanup crew and a strict water changing schedule should take care of 90%.

I used to get alot of (rock dust) also. I now crank up my MP10 100% once a day for about 2 hrs. and blow off rock with turkey baster once a week while mp10 is full tilt.
I also took my substrate down to 1/2" form about 2-1/2" in one shot with a water cange.
A little advice. When/if you suction out sand. Turn off all pumps and try to suction out as much fowl water that comes up with sand as possible.

Yeah I have dsb that's the problem my mp 40 blows my sand around that's why I want a wave box
