lighting question...

i just went out and bought 3 pendent lights .. each has a 250 watt hqi and 2 power compacts...my question is that i have a 450 gallon tenecor acrylic tank and there are two cutouts for the other two lights but if it want to put the other light on the tank it is right on top of the acrylic braceing in the top middle of the tank....if i put the light over this brace will it melt the acrylic...the light has fans in it and a glass cover so it blocks most of the heat...and i have 2 ice cap fans one on either end of the canopy pulling the heat out....can i install this light and if so how far do i have to keep it from the brace....o yea the acrylic is 3/4 inch thick...someone please give me advice i have such a dead spot in the middle of the tank....

Maybe place the light just a bit higher than the other two and i think you should be fine cause the other two will help with the light that ur loosing from it being higher.

all three of the lights are now mounted 12 inches away from the top of the tank....hope thats good enough....
