Feather Duster

I got a feather duster about a month ago and thought it would dig itself into the substrate. Not happening. I cut a plastic ring from a coke bottle and pushed it into the sand then just sat the feather duster in the ring. The feather duster seems to be doing well but hasn't dug in at all. What should I do? Thanks.

Don't do anything but securing it between rocks, he will eventually attach itself. Feather dusters don't dig in the sand.
