For those of you that dose Ozone, do you run the effluent from reactor (or skimmer) through carbon before it reaches aquarium water? I have been doing this for years but I am currently working on a new system and want to see if this is absolutely necessary.

Thanks!!

I've been running ozone through my skimmer for at least a decade. I'm using a 100mg ozonizer with carbon air cleaner in front of it but no air dryer. My redox probe is in the tank overflow and the controller is set for 370. The skimmer drains into the sump at the same location as the tank overflow drain does and the waters mix before returning to the tank. Have never had a problem.

i run my ozone through a mrc skimmer and have a wast collector. The top of the collection cup for the skimmer is sealed with a o ring so no air goes out from the skimmer and gets pushed into the waist collector that has a container filled with carbon that the exaust air goes through before it exits into the room. i dont have any carbon in the sump filtering the ozone out. the sump is 4ft long and think any residual ozone is dispersed before it makes it to the main display

Thanks! I appreciate your responses guys. I suspected that it was probably fine for the skimmer water to go straight into the sump without going first through AC. It's good to know it can be done without any problems.
