storing water.

i am going back to school, and i don't want to make my dad go back in forth to get new water , so how could i store around 90 gallons of water? can i put it in a garbage can with bags? what is the best thing to do. i want it to be rodi/alread mixed salt water, so when i do water change it is ready to go.

dont think is gonna be possible due to evaporation saltinity will go up...and if he does'nt measure the saltinity and adds ro/di water..may cause your tank to crash due to high saltinity...just my 2 cents..

I store water in big rubbermaid containers. If the container is well closed, the water will have nowhere to evaporate. Not sure how long you're looking to store it for, but I've kept water ready for a couple of months that way.

You can also get 5g buckets or water bottles and store water in "single size" water change containers. This way your dad can dump 5g and pour a fresh bucket in (assuming the temp and pH are watched).

yeah i mean as long as they are in a bag sealed it should be fine...

If you put saran wrap over the container & then put the lid on. Exap should be next to nothing. Just make sure when your dad is taking water he gives it a good stir.
BTW your dad is a great guy for taking this chore on.

yea when he opens it he will need to airrate the water for 12hrs or so until the PH is back up to normal.
