Power compact to t5 conversion

So I want to switch over my power compact to t5 on my 29g bio cube. Russ got me the ice cap hard end caps and mounting brackets. The ballast is the oceanic 36 watt ballast. I want to switch to the 18/20 watt Slimpaq actinic bulb. will that ballast work for that bulb? I'll get new reflectors soon cause I know that's important, but will that ballast work? And in order to do this, im guessing just open the wire and the two wires go to one cap and the other two go to the other cap? Looking for a good article on this, anyone know where maybe with pics?

i would say no, that ballast isnt for t5's and are you trying to install it into the hood or going open top ? why not just get the current nep 20" t5 light ? and the icecap end caps are huge and wont fit into the area alotted on the factory hood

i do have room for the end caps on my hood. already looked at it, if i was going to do that i would be getting rid of the actinic power compact and it fits fine right there. i been trying to read alot on it and all i find are threads on RC with people doing it and it worked, but i cant find a good article on a DIY project.
