Tang sick

HI All.

I have a yellow eye kole tang for a week. So today I noticed that he has something that looks like a white head pimple on the side of his body and his coloring is pale.

He has been eating algae that I put in the tank as well as anything he can get on the rocks and throughout the tank. He also occasionally will eat pellets. He's about 2 inches. I do weekly 5 gallon water changes. My water is fine. I have been adding vitamin c to the water.

Does anyone know what this might be?

May be ick it comes and goes on tangs don't worry as long as he eats it will probably go away tangs are notorious for this

Thanks. I can't get a clear pic. He's camera shy. Today the coloring is brighter however the spot is still there. He doesn't show any signs of stress.

I had a kole tang that developed some white dots too and decided after much deliberation to Quarantine and try Hyposalinity. DON'T DO WHAT I DID. In the end I think all that stress killed him.

Ive had 2 yellow eyed koles and lost them both. I dont know why but it seemed they were eating great and then they would get ich and die in a week. I just want to point out that I havent lost any other fish due to ich in this tank in the 2 years its been running. For some reason I cant keep kole tangs

Thanks guys. I noticed today that my 2 butterflies have ich so I have started treating it. It's so frustrating. I'm hoping everyone pulls through. Thanks again
