All,

I was scheduled to receive my new tank from glasscages.com and it was bumped to the week of Saturday the 19th. The tank will be coming onto White Plains, NY.

The bummer of it all, is that I have to work all day on the 19th and am not able to get out of it. It is an event I have been on the planing committee for a year now. If I don't pick it up, I'll have to wait until April 19th - and that is way too long! :)

So, ny request os for people (reefers) who would be willing to help move my tank from White Plains to my house in Ossining, NY.

I will need a pick up truck, or a large van/truck - tank is 6'x2'x2' and about 4 guys who can lift an carry a 400lb tank.

I am offering any frag from my tank, gas money, or whatever is reasonable to those who are willing to help. Please respond here or PM me with details.

Thanks and I hope I can make this happen - I can't wait until April 19th

Jim

Jim, I'll be there. I can certainly help the guys load it in the truck but I'll have my hands full trying to lift my 120 into my SUV with my girlfriend :D

Leon, hopefully Psuedo Boy can take the ride with me, if not then I guess i'll leave it in the back of my truck until I can get someone to help me carry it. I won't have to carry the tank up the stairs though. I plan on putiing it on a dolly and rolling it in the elevator.

I'd be down to assist as well, if you still need additional hands. I'd need to grab a train out of NY or catch a ride with somebody though.

Rich,
That freakin tank weighed over 250 lbs. I hope your GF looks like a supermodel but is strong as the governator! :D

Jim,
You will definitely need 4 beefy guys for that baby.

Guys,
Watch them when they "slide" your tank off the trailer. They chipped one of my corners and I did not have a good day afterwards.....(even after the $80 discount)

House,

I will be with Rich that day so I can help load your baby. But I am going with him to unload so I wont be able to help at your house.

And hey Guys...I loaded, unloaded my 150 and 180 and put the tank on their stands by myself. I dont recommend it but it can be done (steroids not included) ;)

Jim, i would love to help out, but as you know saturdays are not an option for me.
Rich, if you need a hand with your tank (and its not on a saturday) i would be happy to help out.

my 180 took 4 guys to bring from the street to my house - those things ARE heavy.

Ricordia king thanks for the offer. I have Kasei and my girlfriend coming with me, so with the tank in the back and the seats down I have no room for anyone else.

All,

Turns out, my tank is scheudled for delivery on April 24th. I am not sure I told them that, but they say that is what I requested.

Ricordia, Jackson and all else, thanks a ton for offering. I will probably still need help on the 24th, but this time I will be able to help myself ;)

Thanks again and look for the note again in the future

That really sucks Jim! I hope they don't pull that crap with me. There is no way I told them April 24th and I'm sure you didn't tell them the later date as well. I have to call them tomorrow to make sure my tank is coming on saturday.
On the bright side I'll be free then and I can offer you my help.

Rich,
If Pierce is building your 2x4 stand, ask him to finish the top with a piece of plywood.
GC stipulates that their warranty applies to leakage only if their tank is placed on a bottom supported stand using styrofoam between.
(don't know why, only acrylic tanks should need full bottoms)
Hopefully GC built your tank beforehand. They need 3 weeks from date of manufacture (written on the back pane) for the silicone to fully cure before filling with water.
My tank was built 7 days prior to delivery, so I had to wait another few weeks.

Your welcome to stop by to check out the tank setup if your in the area.
