I would get one from a one MR vendors if not pool stores sell bulk heads, and most on line stores sell them. I would fix it right or in the long run it will cost alot more to break it down to fix it once up and running~~

I would put a piece of square acrylic over it and use weld-on. Its no weaker than any other joints and you wont have any protrusion from the bulkhead.

I have some scrap if you need it.

Bulk reef supplies sells them for pretty cheap. Seeling it with acrylic and silicon also works but sometimes it leaks if you dont do it right.
