Deltec Skimmers Cheap in England (Duhh!)

They will not get you the american pumps and there are no converters for pumps. The US pumps are shipped directly from Germany to the US. They are not available anywhere else. They have to protect the market so that we dont go buying stuff in Europe for cheaper. Generally you will end up paying more in the end. But you never know right. Good luck!!!

Well the pump that I need to run the skimmer I want (AP701) is an Eheim 1260 which I can get from Dr. Foster/smith right? The 1260 costs $120. The AP701 costs $1079 in America and if I get it from Europ it will hit me up at around $600 shipped. After I get the pump, this thing shouldnt cost me more the $700.

The 1260 you are getting from Dr. Foster/smith won't have a needle wheel in it to use as a skimmer pump, they are regular water pumps.

Deltec supposedly modified all the Eheims it uses for their skimmer, no one can say certain what those mods are.

Herman just told me the same thing. I just contacted Deltec asking them about the pumps. The guys in Europe took 100lbs. off the price since I am not taking the pump. So this unit is costing me 550 american dollars +40 for shipping. (the ap701 costs &1079)

I am not sure if Deltec USA will sell you a "modified" pump. You should ask the European company to sell you a needle wheel and try it in a standard 1260, that is what H&S supposedly do with their skimmer.

You think we can do that ourselves with a bio ball or something? I mean, I wouldnt want to compromise with it, but if its been done with the same results as an aquabee then Ill go with that.
