Pump For A Close Loop System

Hey I just wondering what pump members are using on their close loop system? And if you 2 or 1 pumps for both filtration and circulation?

you always run a closed loop of a separate pump,

ok gotcha, I just added to 2 more outlets to circulate the water more and i notice a loss in pressure. So im wondering should I go with another pump or get a bigger pump. Right now i have a Blue Line SD 1100

if thats the 55hdx it only does 1100 gph at 0 head, what size tank are you putting it on and what size bulkhead, and plumbing do you have. what is your head height, pics would help

i have a 120g tech with 3/4 pvc with 4 outlets

mine must be an older model. Its a SD 1100 with max cap 70 L/min (1105gph), Max Head 18ft

Brick are you using all outlets for return, if you are you are going to need inductors. 1105gph in to 4 outlets isn't really going to give you enough flow. what you can do is use 2 as drains, and 2 as returns. this would be a better choice. ? are these holes drilled in the back of the tank.

I think the Tech has 2 one inch drains and 2 one inch returns that are split with dual 3/4" loclines on each return so essentially, his pump is tee'd to 2 returns, just that the outputs are split dual loclines.

I started off with 2. But when I redid the plumbing on it I decided to add 2 more 3/4 outlets for more flow so I can eliminate 1 of my mp40s.

are you going to run the pump thru your sump?

yes i plan to run it from my sump and using it to supply my phosban and uv. I never needed to run a chiller but i made an extra outlet for that too.
