I bought a yellow canary wrasse about a week ago, i have started to notice a definte sleep pattern.

This fish sleeps till 10 - 10:30 everday. He pops out of the sand and starts his day.

FYI my lights go on a 630AM

I have never in my life seen this anyone ever have a fish who sleeps late.

Its funny cause the store i got it from opens at 10 but keeps the lights on till 10 at night. This fish is def in the sand when i get home at 530.

I didnt know that, I just thought he was lazy and wanted to sleep late.

My potters leopard sleeps late too and goes to bed early. Its up at about 12-1230 and goes to bed when the day lights turn off (830-9) never mind that the t5s are on for 2 hours after that. It amuses me how he has his own schedule which he finds more suitable then the one i set for them :P

Does your wrasse create a bubble around its body when it sleeps? I used to have a wrasse that did that and thought it was pretty unique.
Only wrasses that sleep in the rock work do this. The ones that sleep in the sand-bed have no need to do so.
And yes, it is a very interesting aspect of wrasses.
