What type of brain is it?

What you describe sounds like it receding, but with picture we can diagnose it better.

My suggestion is to feed it at least once a week.

brains arent usually pink when there healthy, some of the rainbows have pink but its usually red. that red turns pink when it bleaches, i believe you may have gotten a bleaching brain coral

I temp acclimated the first brain i ever got and it started to peel away the first day. I had T5's and didn't know how sensitive they are to sudden light changes. I put it in the shade for a few days and it was fine. You might wanna try that.

Heres a pic of it the day I put it up for sale. I dont know why its receding. It was eating and doin fine in my tank. I had it for about 3-4 months. Didnt notice any growth but seemed to be fine. The inside did seem to be getting bleached out but I though that might of been caused by replacing my bulbs
