ok I've been trying to bring down my ph for the past few days. Its around 8.5. I've been dosing vineger but my ph goes right back up. My cal is 420, alk 9, mag 1460. I did 25% water change using esv mix. What else can I do?

As with any problem in your tank, something is causing it. Find that out and your problem is fixed. And stop using vinegar. Its not the best thing to be dosing your tank with.

What are you dosing in your tank? what are your PH readings before and after the ESV mix water change? And what is the PH of your ESV mix before you add it in? When do you do water changes? When do you see a higher PH? What are you testing your PH with? I can go on and on. It could be as simple as what your feeding thats causing the higher PH.

On another note your alk can be dropped a bit. Get it down to 8 and your PH will correct itself.

I feed the tank once a day, flake or mysis. The reading is coming off my aqua controller. Water change every sunday. I'll check the ph before and after when I do my water change this sun. I'll buy a test kit for ph. My my probe is reading is wrong

Or your mixing your ESV salt without taking into consideration the alk already present in your tank.

Your PH is mainly affected by the calcium/alkalinity/magnesium levels in your tank. If those are in check then your tank should be stable at 8.0-8.4 PH. To fix it just add less of whatever your dosing to the tank that controls ALK. Its that simple. There is no magic addative to drop it.
