I've had my tube anemone for a number of years now. Its never "shed" its tubing, and never left its tube either. My guess is that its severely stressed. The tubing does grow with it though, just not sure if it grows back from nothing.

I'll keep an eye on it I think it was stressed from the start it didn't look great but was only 20$ and I had been looking for one for a while when I first got it home and tried to bury it the head came fully out of the tube so I left it to settle in

Like Ming said, they don't normally leave their 'home', unless they are severely stressed. Matt, it sounds like yours was just that, ready to turn alcoholic :kidding:

I have personally seen them regrow their tube in a matter of 36-48 hrs. They can do it, but not always. Hopefully yours will survive and regenerate the tube.

Good luck,
Russ
