so this weekend i should be finishing up the plumbing on my 120g, if i have time ( i hope i do, i miss my fish)

This is what I'm planning on stocking

1- Niger Trigger
1-Lion
1-Angler
1-Marine Betta
1-snow flake eel
and a pathner grouper.

for starters - think they will get along if they r all approx the same size?

not 2 worried if they out grow- i can find some1 to take them

my old grouper grew to be 19'' inches, my friend still has him in a 500g vate in his basement :)

i'm more concerned w/ how well they will play, and if its an over load for my system, cause i may be adding a baby bamboo shark

drunktank,

I see a few problems with the stocking list that you have. First, "if" you get all those fish to live together peacefully you are going to have one heck of a high bio load. So I hope you are going to have a HUGE skimmer as they are all very messy eaters.

The other main problem is that the fish you listed won?t really get along for an extended period of time. Mixing Triggers and Lions is a gamble because triggers tend to nip at the lions fins. I had a pink tale that destroyed lion within 30 minutes after being in the tank. As for the Angler, they are better left for a species only tank as they will eat ANYTHING the can fit in their mouth. So one day you might find your trigger or grouper in its mouth have in and out :eek1:

Lastly, the feeding habits of all those fish are completely different so I imagine feeding time for you will be a major hassle making sure all the fish get something to eat.

Sorry to come off somewhat preachy but I have had the majority of those fish over my years of doing FOWLR tanks and I can tell you from experience that is going to be a hard tank to maintain. Can it be done? Possibly, every fish is different and you might get lucky and find ones that can coexist.

Now hows that for a fist post :D
