Just had to share my excitement. Jason from Greenwich Aquaria was here today and noticed something shocking . . . a baby Cardinal fish hosting in my anemone! So far he hasn't been bothered or eaten by the clowns, but I guess we'll see . . .

Cardinals

Its actually pretty common for banggai to host anemones. The problems is and you will notice that that little guy isnt touching any tentacles. Touchiing equals dinner. They normally host long spine urchins.

Cardinals dont have a slime coat like clowns but they can be very still.

They do host to a degree but they also become food. I had a male and female bangaii pair in my tank that would try to host a mag occupied by my white bonnet clown.

I added a another mag and the bonnet moved over. The female cardinal finally got a chance to host and became dinner.

BTW dont be shy tell everyone about your magnificas.. :)
