I just measured the opening on my 90's cabinet, center brace also, and it's 19" by 18 1/2" so a 30 would fit, but measure how much room behind the stand to the back wall for clearance for the length of the 30...you may not have enough room to swing the 30 inside the cabinet.

Well what me and one of my friends did to his was remove the center brace and fit the sump and skimmeR. In real quick then rescrew the center brace back In... I don't know if that will be safe but if ur friend is willing to take a chance... Up to him done b4 and worked out fine

Is the tank full? If it is, then removing a center brace is a risky thing. so many variables can go wrong that you'd have to ask yourself if its worth the chance. Maybe a smaller tank can do the trick or you can shimmy the 30 in diagonally.

If the tank is empty simply remove the center brace and replace it in the same manner it was in before. by this I mean don't over screw or move it.

his tank is up and running for the past year but he has such a small dinky wet dry on it that has no room to add anything so i want to make him a 30g sump throw it under it. we are planning on taking all the rock out and about 60-70% water out. hoping with that much all out we could manage to pop the center board off and throw the sump under it. after we have it drained down that much, if we feel its still too heavy, then we will empty more...

ok well if he has a wood stand.. I'll give you my take on it.

I have a 40b as my DT 36x18x16
I have a 20g long 30x12x12

A wood stand. Removed the center brace could not get the tank to turn.

Now... your friend has a 90g 48x18x24
and you want to install a 30b 36x18x12

How are you planning on putting something something as wide as the tank itself inside a wood stand? Unless the stand was made oversized..... an 18" wide tank is an 18" wide tank. You can cut it, slice it, mold it any way you want.... it will not fit.

hey i have a 48x18 and i could not fit a 30 gal sump undermine because i lost about a 1inch on each side because my stand used the 1 inch on each side as the base for the display tank. All i needed was 1 inch but its one of those things you wont know untill u try it. good luck hopefully it fits

A 30 breeder is 12 inches deep
