Suggestion to help noobs

How about creating stickies in the "Reefs for Beginners" forum with guidelines for basic aquarium setup requirements and methods, recommendations for husbandry, livestock selection, goals for types of tanks (fo, fowlr, reef..), how to choose equipment, etc.

I know the mods have oodles of time on their hands :joke: and are well paid :smash: so maybe....

Then when people ask those inevitable newbie questions over and over and over and over... you could just say "Read da sticky!"

This is a very good idea and something that could be done by one or several experienced members. If anyone wants to volunteer to pull it together, I volunteer to proofread and refine it.

This is not to suggest that good information is not already in the various forums (like Deanos' "New to Reefkeeping" in the reefs for beginners). On the contrary if people did detailed research they'd find a wealth of info, advice, etc. I'm thinking of something authoritative (not discussion threads) that would pull related information together maybe like a checklist. This would have MR's stamp on it - not just links but a MR product.

Great Idea, I know few forums that have the same type of thing in place. A checklist would be awesome for the newcomer to the hobby.
