Major algae bloom

i noticed yesterday my tank was a bit cloudy.i got home from work today and its very cloudy and a 5oclock shadow of algae all on the glass.tanks been running since november with all rock and water from a 3year old system.i have added nothing to the tank at all.i have added green marine algae sheets for the new tang but thats it.what could have caused this.i just changed the carbon 5 minutes ago and before that 2 weeks ago.and my skimmer is pulling this weird brown crud ive never seen before

how many light do you give the tank what kind of light's do you have and was it new lights that you got or used lights maybe the bulbs need changing .

i added nothing new.i got the acan led system around a month ago.this all happened in the matter of 26 hours.

ok i am having a algae bloom from somewhere but i noticed just 30 minutes ago that when i shut my return pump off and then turn it on a cloud of smoke comes out of my return pump into my tank and clouds the whole tank up again.a member told me its electical and to check my heater.i will replace the heater tomorrow since i was planning on doing that anyway since its as old as ive been in the hobby.hopefully its that and not my return pump.
