ParaGuard medication and live sand...

My friend got live sand from somebody who had fish only tank and used paraguard medication for ick. Question: Is it safe to use that sand in a reef tank?

absolutely not!!!!!! There is no such thing as reef safe meds....even if it says it's safe do not trust it, that is if you value your reef and its inhabitants!!!!!!

Thanks. I’ve heard about copper based medication. Should he use the sand? ? I would buy new sand to avoid problems.

just buy new it is not worth the risk
