I don't think anybody's put a time limit to it, but hermits and snails are often shipped dry, or close to dry (hundred prebaggie with a moist paper towel in the bag). Corals depends on the species and the temperature the bag is exposed to. Most LPS are from tidal lagoons and low tide has them exposed to sunlight for extended periods. So if you get a coral shipped and the bag breaks but gets exposed to very cold temp. for an overnight flight, I would give it much of a chance.

For snails and hermits - probably a day or 2 depending on how much water and especially the temperature. As mentioned snails are often shipped in damp paper towels.

For corals - it would depend on the coral. Many corals spend a day or 36 hours in transit when ordered from the West Coast, and again temperature is important.

Any particular type of coral that you are asking about?
