Help! BTA Trouble!

Hey guys, today I came home and my speckled green BTA is rolling around my sand :'(. And I can see some sort of fleshy thing sticking on the rock where it used to be sitting, im worried it walked to close to a powerhead and got blown off the rock. Im worried his foot is damaged because its been a few hours now and hes right up against a rock but he doesnt seem to be able to grab onto it.

Is there anything I can do? or has anyone has this happen to them?

It really sucks cause my clowns were JUST starting to be interested in it

If u ask me I think ur tank still isn't ready for a bta or any ane.give ur tank some more time to mature then try again ....Just my 2 cents

Mostly interested in the part that was stuck to the rock, it needs to stay underwater either way.

Ive had a sebae for longer than ive had your tank. And untill today the BTA has been brightly colored, not bleached, and eating fine, thanks tho.

I would suggest lowering your flow if at all possible so it doesn't get tossed around and has a chance to recover.

Ill take a look for an older pic of it, but if i can try to describe the part that was stuck to the rock, it was like a fleshy, brownish-clear circle, with no center.

Try placein it on a low flow area on top of a rock and give it some time to grab on...Once it feels safe and grabs on it will look for a suitable area in ur tank it self.

Also heres a crappy pic from about a month ago, it seemed to like that little crevice under the rock, sry for the bad quality pic, didnt know much about my camera at the time.

I would only relocate it if there is too much flow in the area that cannot be redirected or shut off. Relocating it will add stress and my guess is that it was already pushed to an area that is fine. It will attach if it is going to make it and will relocate himself if need be.

Yea It moved to the top of the rock it was underneath and started strolling around that peice, which is about 7 inches from a powerhead

And yea it had been eating fine, sticky tentacles and everything

Yeah I havent touched it, its up against a rock now so ill see what happens, im just afraid that if it dies, so will everything else in my tank :/

Leave it alone. It may take a while to reattach. BTAs are the more resilient but they are still very delicate and I wouldn't risk trying to move it.
After it reattaches then try feeding it.
What were you feeding before?

Chopped deli shrimp, mysis cubes, and squid

i personally dont think it looks to bad from that picture, and by the way you explained it i think it may have been caught in the powerhead. Only time will tell if it will make it. Sometimes they will split after something like this occurs.

My advise, Keep your tank parameters stable and in good standings. Keep the flow low and keep an eye on it.

It would be a good idea to keep a fresh batch of salt water mixed.

As soon as we noticed it I started making a fresh batch of saltwater, Ill do a 20 Gallon or so change tomorrow around noon, thanks again for your help man, im keeping my fingers crossed

I would add soaking the food in a liquid vitamin such as Selcon. It will help with any trace minerals during the healing.
I would hold off on a large water change unless your parameters are off or it starts to look worse.
